Rós Rosé
Rós is an artisanal winemaking project by Lynne Coyle MW, made in collaboration with the Lagar de Costa family estate on Galicia's Atlantic coast. The wine is made partly using Espadeiro, a dark-skinned variety that predates Albariño. When Albariño rose to prominence in the 1980s, Espadeiro plantings were dramatically reduced, pushing the variety close to extinction. A small number of producers have since begun investing in its recovery. Rós Rosé is part of that effort, made in small batches. Blended with a portion of Albariño, this wine displays an Atlantic freshness that is very much a signature of Lagar de Costa, where the vineyards run right down to the beach.
Serve well chilled as an aperitif, with cured Ibérico ham, or a simple plate of fresh prawns.
