Powers Gold Label, which picked up Gold at the Irish Whiskey Masters 2022, is something of a classic. A bottle redesign in recent years is a nod to its storied history, when it was produced in John’s Lane in Dublin. Complex and honeyed, Gold Label is approximately 70% pot still, triple distilled and is left to mature in American oak casks, which is where it gets its spicy, bold character. Expect notes of cinnamon, ripe pear and charred oak on the nose, followed by orchard fruits, toasted oak and crisp barley and a long pot still finish.
