Familia Deicas Single Vineyard Malbec
Familia Deicas are a pioneering winemaking family in Uruguay, but this wine comes from the Perdriel single-vineyard of ancient (100-yr-old) vines grown at 990 metres above sea level, in the LujƔn de Cuyo sub-region of Mendoza in Argentina. These gnarled old vines produce a small quantity of incredible quality grapes. Floral and bright with plum and blueberry fruit flavours backed up with a distinct minerality. Careful use of oak (only 30% of the wine is oaked) frames the primary fruit flavours to give a surprisingly fresh finish. A spectacular example of the LujƔn de Cuyo terroir.
