It's hard to find value in the prestigious Pomerol region, so this beauty is a rare gem- consistently outscoring many wines twice its price. The small estate has been run by Nicolas and Alexandra Robin since 2008, when they bought the vineyards from their grandfather. The old vine Merlot offers intense and concentrated red fruit aromas and lifted toast and wood notes from the new oak. The palate is big and bold with good acidity to balance the grippy tannins before a long, savoury finish. A wonderful example of why Pomerol is considered to make the best Merlot in the world.
