Château Rollan de By is a modern fifty-hectare family owned Medoc estate that was started in 1989 by Jean Guyon. The 35-year old vineyards have a high percentage of clay, so perfect for growing the Merlot grape which makes up 70% of the blend, the Merlot is supported by Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Winemaking is directed by The Italian Merlot specialist Riccardo Cotarella, Château Rollan de By is silky smooth with a core of blackberry and plum underpinned by ripe integrated tannins, a hint of toasted mocha and some savoury notes.
